I was scrolling through my newsfeed on Facebook one day and came across a meme that said “Sign the petition to remove the Confederate flag from government buildings”. I chuckled to myself and kept scrolling. I thought it was pretty funny to satirize today’s political climate by creating a meme about a fake issue that would be so ridiculous to even be debated in our country today. But then I started seeing more and more posts, memes, articles, and news reports about this debate revolving around the confederate flag still being displayed in government buildings. Not just any old government building, but capitol buildings. I was amazed! Now before I allow myself to rant, let me express my sympathies.
So let me take a moment to take my foot out of my mouth. This is my second attempt at this subject because my first attempt was very quickly revealed by @Bob C to be a little more hard-lined than I really intended. I think I got a little over zealous in my discussion concerning evolution and Bob very rightly pointed out that I don’t have the credentials to speak to such things with the amount of dogma that I had portrayed with my tone.
